I’m going to show you a picture here that marks one of the best, most joyous Easters I can remember.
The service was lovely, my handsome husband played the cello during the hymns, there was a baptism, and an African feast in the crypt afterwards. It was WONDERFUL.
And I took the annual Easter photo of the congregation.
This post is not to talk about the difficulties of gathering a giant group of people to the front of the church after the service and convincing them that NOT EVERYONE can stand in the back row. It’s not to talk about the impracticalities of using a fixed lens for such an exercise. And it’s not to talk about the pros and cons of a high f-stop.
No, the purpose is just to show you this photo,
and then zoom in on my dear son, who is sitting front and centre,
and then LAUGH.
He is picking his nose in every single shot. I LOVE IT. This photo is definitely being shown at his wedding.

What a lovely Easter Service! And your son picking his nose is absolutely priceless! Whip that photo out for girlfriends, birthdays, graduation, and wedding. Milk it for all its worth.
Crack me up! This is awesomeness – thank you for posting this one!!!!!
He looks sooo OLD!! Oh my gosh!
I love it. I swear that until he was 5, EVERY time my son was in front of the church he was doing the same thing. Boys!
Love the shot of your church family — and of your son in all his glory
Would have loved to hear your hubby play the cello to Easter hymns. I’m sure it was beautiful…
Ha! Too funny.
[...] When Benjy was about 18 months, I took a group shot of my church at Easter, only to find Benjy was sitting front and center with his finger up his nose in every. single. shot. You can see the photo here. [...]
