Hääkuvaus Turussa : Sarah and Micke
Please don’t rain, please don’t rain, please don’t rain.
It seems like 80% of shoots in Finland begin and end with me chanting that phrase.
The good news is it didn’t rain. It seems my little chant carries power.
The other good news is that Sarah and Micke were up for anything. I really, truly appreciate that about those I photograph. If I suggest a location, even if it’s dangerously close to the water’s edge, even if she might twist an ankle reaching it, even if her dress might get a wee bit dirty or his shoes a bit scratched, if my couple says, “Sure!” I am stoked.
We did this bridal portrait shoot a couple of weeks before their wedding day. Which was BRILLIANT on their part. We had plenty of time to shoot, everything was totally relaxed, AND it gave Sarah (what a great name, right?) a chance to practice wearing her dress. Let me tell you brides-to-be out there, trying on your dress in a shop is entirely different from walking, sitting, getting out of cars, getting into cars, standing on rocks, hiking up hills, etc. in your dress. You might want to spend some time doing just that before your big day, ladies. It’s illuminating, for sure.
Sarah and Micke, it was an honor documenting your obvious love for each other. Thank you for spending the evening with me and putting your wedding portraits in my hands.
