Shorn

We’ve been meaning to do it for a while.  For months, really.  It’s been getting totally out of control, growing more and more insane with every passing minute.  But finally, after looking at this photo, I sprung to action.

Benjy’s hair has simply been disgraceful.  A rock and roll mullet circa 1984.  And his birthday- his second birthday (*gasp* where has the time gone??!)- is coming up on Tuesday.  I didn’t want my dear son looking like an overgrown hooligan on his second birthday.

Finally we made the appointment, and on Friday we went in.

Just look at that awesome pre-haircut mullet deliciousness.

Totally prepared, they put a DVD player in front of Benj, played some silly cartoons, and while Benjy was engrossed in the goings on of some Swedish speaking characters (it’s so funny how some Finns assume that because someone speaks English, (s)he’d prefer Swedish instead of Finnish- I used to get my medical bills in Swedish, because I’m registered as English speaking).  Benjy didn’t care if was Swedish, English, or Swahili, though- he got to watch TV (at home, it’s strictly forbidden)!!

Little did this hairdresser know that her face would be forever immortalized on my blog and photo albums for years to come.

Afterwards, I asked Benjy to show me his new haircut.  So he did.

And then today, when he was looking particularly handsome, I took his photo again.   Abercrombie, here he comes.
