Stockholm is a very exciting place for Americans living in Finland. Because there are ALL SORTS of American comforts that haven’t made it over to Helsinki yet. Like TGIFriday’s. And 7-11′s. And Starbuck’s (but only at the airport).
AND. Two essentials that we frequented- a pancake house…
and a Mexican restaurant. By Mexican, I mean actual Mexican. With guacamole made from actual avocados- guacamole that would turn brown if it sat out too long. With actual flour tortillas.
That being said, there is FINALLY a real Mexican restaurant in Helsinki with enchiladas worth their weight in gold. But these Stockholm tacos were heaven in a tortilla as far as I was concerned.
We planned our trip around eating. First gobbling up pancakes. Then walking around long enough to justify gobbling up tacos. And then some homemade turtle brownies before dashing back to the ship.
YUM. Yum, yum, yum. I’ll be tied over until I arrive in America in SIX SHORT WEEKS!
